Perhaps that is a good reason as to why it isn’t a good idea to tell our fellow Americans that they, “RINOS”, aren’t welcome in the Republican party.
***And also, perhaps not. By the way, this isn’t a republican website. It’s a conservative one.

I’d rather a “RINO” vote for a Republican than a Democrat.
***So would I. I’m glad to see we’re on the same page. In the last election, 20% of those who called themselves “conservative” voted for Obama. Those are the RINOs. If JimRob and the GOP doesn’t rid itself of this RINO infestation, the problem will persist.

We might not have gotten Obama if we’d stop shooting those who at least agree with us on most of the issues.
***There are core issues. I’m a big tent republican.

Here’s an analogy to work with. Take a small box and fill it with some rocks. Then add some rice, filling it to the top. Now take all the same stuff, but in a different order. Put in the rice first, then add the rocks. What you’ll find is that if you put in the big stuff first, the small stuff will fit around it. But if you put in the small stuff first, the big stuff won’t have room. The republican tent is the box. The Big issues are the socon issues, to be put in first. The little issues are things that can be accommodated around the bigger stuff. A candidate who tries to focus on the smaller issues first and leave out the bigger issues has no way of getting all of us into the tent. He splits the party. The candidate who gets the big stuff right and as much of the little stuff that will fit, he can fit more into the tent. We’re often amazed at how much rice can keep fitting in. Rudy Giuliani flunks some of the big issues, and on some of the little issues it looks to me like anyone else’s rice would do just as well. All that remains for us to agree on is which are the bedrock principles and which are not. Why would there be so much invective aimed at rudy from the right? Because there are some bedrock principles that he is leaving out. Bad move. I see rudybot postings all the time saying that they would vote for Hunter, and I see socon postings that say they would not vote for rudy. That’s a BIG indicator of a few bedrock principles that are being left outside the tent in order to let in some rice.

.

.

Seems to me
***There’s yer problem, right there.

that anyone who disagrees with a self-described “conservative” on even one issue, is then labeled as a RINO
***Nope.

and told they are not welcome anymore.
***It appears to be plain as day that the RINOs pushing Romney are no longer welcome on this site. I’d say that’s a start.

Since when do freedom loving Americans refuse to allow any disagreement whatsoever on the issues?
***Disagreement is fine, but what you put together there was a straw argument. It’s an exaggeration of the opposing position in order to make it look indefensible.

I know people that you would call RINOS.
***So do I. And I think they should even be welcome to operate here on FR, out in the open, just like all the other liberals are welcome. What’s needed is an idealogy litmus matrix, so we know where they’re coming from. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2152822/posts?page=49#49
Read the link before you lead with another straw argument.

And yet not one of them voted for Obama.
***It’s a secret ballot system here in the US. You have no way of knowing that they did or didn’t.

Anyone who thinks that the majority of Americans should or will march in lockstep with the “perfect conservatives” on every issue are living in la-la land, in my humble opinion.
***Another straw argument. I don’t think the “majority of Americans” will or should mark in lockestep with “perfect conservatives”.

Thanks for your thoughts. I am well aware that this is a conservative website. That’s why I signed on. But as a conservative I do have some opinions of my own regarding how we treat others, rinos in particular. I can’t hardly convince someone to come around to my way of thinking if I spend more time insulting them than conversing with them.

Just because this is a conservative website does not mean that it is not read by “rinos” who could have, might have changed their opinions on some of the issues if it weren’t for all the insults and irrational hatred being slung at ‘em. Find a conservative candidate and then convince everyone, rinos included, that they are the best candidate for our country’s future.
