Unlike Romney's "National Council for a New America," Free Republic is a conservative site!

Romney holds no office and is not setting policy.

******************

Yes, and isn't that the point? The point of this 1,000+ posts thread is that we must keep Romney and other RINOs from getting elected to office.

Then maybe we should work to put people with honor and a sense of duty in office and Romney will be irrelevant. I have posted a couple of names, I would add the governors of Louisiana and Alabama to my list. The governor of Alaska already has plenty of supporters, although some behave as if they are 13 years old and have a crush.

Maybe we should be realists rather than idealists.

“Maybe we should be realists rather than idealists”

Actually I prefer to be both. I am a realist when it deals with the past election (after all, that was the only options available) and I prefer to be a visionary when considering the future (if we are not things will never improve)

I loved that pic. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a great president. I miss him.

I never said you were the ones who called names. I said that I have been called names by Romney supporters. The attacks I have seen, have come overwhelmingly from Mitt supporters against those of us who oppose him.

There is no reason to discredit him because of his religion, his record does that quite nicely.

Well, great! Then you can't envision Mutt Romney as a steaming pile of $hit?

That is exactly what most conservatives view him as.

“For some candidates their religion and their fitness for office are very closely linked.”

It’s a slippery slope to go down that road. We could have faith vs. faith..... denomination vs. denomination and eventually people of faith will be fragmented - like we need more.

It’s not enough to fight off the Dems, the media and the secular progressives?

I’m sure that Jimmy Carter was probably the most “Christian” of any recent Presidents.

He still sucked as President.

Did you mean can or can’t? He was only one of several patties in that pasture, careful you don’t step in another while trying to avoid him. By the way I hope to find a tulip next time .... guess it’s that visionary thing kicking in. Please don’t be harsh, I am trying to be your friend.

Well, he got the first part right. We’ll just have to wait to see how the second plays out.

- - - - - - - -
How? He was speaking of HIS own presidential race (1844). Only later, after he was killed in a gunfight did the LDS leadership start applying it to others.

“Listen, most voters include character in how they weigh a candidate — it’s not just some cold, robotic impersonal issues assessment. Don’t get me wrong, issues & values are extremely important, but you can’t separate candidate from character; and you can’t separate character from faith.”

There are people of good character in every religion and denomination. Conversely, there are people of poor character in every religion and denomination.

Where do you stop the litmus test?

No Mormons, no Lutherans, no Catholics, no Evangelical, no Methodists, no Presbyterians, no Baptists...how about people who pray differently, stoics versus charismatic...

Where does it stop?

You can vote for who’s on the ticket (or write in) or you can stay home.

I hope we are still looked on as worthy of grace, but we have to do our part .... you know, that faith without works thing.
- - - - - - -
Or we can work to get conservative candidates. NO MORE COMPROMISING!

I agree that this nation is in need of a spiritual revival. This nation needs to turn back to God.

And works don’t save. Christ alone does.

BTW, are you LDS?
