Socialist Myth Romney working to reshape GOP's image into Democrat Lite

Former governors Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush joined Congressman Eric Cantor to talk health care, the economy and national security at the first town hall meeting for the National Council for a New America on Saturday. But the group steered clear of abortion and same-sex marriage -- wedge issues that have led to the defection of moderates and independents.

"Listening to people can make a difference. We've got ideas on how we can help people get health insurance, how we can improve our schools, how we can make our economy strong today as well as down the road, how we can reform entitlements -- these are the people of America that have these ideas," Romney said. "We want to share these ideas with one another, and make sure that we're laying out a vision and a plan for America that makes our lives and the lives of our kids better."

Romney lost the Republican presidential primary to Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) in the 2008 election. Since President Obama's election, the Republicans have come under danger of being locked into a filibuster-proof Senate.

Romney said that the focus needs to be return to the American people, rather than elected officials.

"America is great because of the American people, and the skill and ingenuity and entrepreneurship of America. That's what we happen to believe," Romney said of himself, Congressman Eric Cantor and former governor Jeb Bush. "I happen to think right now with regards to our economy,that we're risking doing the very thing to our economy that government did to our housing market. And that is borrow so much money that you create a bubble that ultimately collapses."

I like what Mitt Romney said about the economny — about the government creating another “BIG BUBBLE” (i.e., the housing market)

The government is creating another BIG BUBBLE now (or at least trying to) via the Romney/Obama/McCain's TARP plan.

Yep. And a good share of these "moderates" don't vote on issues anyway. They vote on emotion. And not just illogical emotion, but shifting emotion. Their thinking is so shallow, they can't even explain it. Every candidate has to attract people like this if they expect to win. Some of these emotional voters are so feeling based that they won't come to their senses until they are herded into a boxcar.

I frequent another chat site, many of whom are PUMAs. They hate Obama and are thoroughly pissed off at the Democrat Party. But they’ve been brainwashed to hate Republicans, so nothing one says to them seems to make any difference. It is pathetic until we start discussing the U.S.Constitution, and how Obama is making it irrelevant today. Then these people sound like conservative voters. There is the common denominator, folks: our Constitutional rights.

There are plenty of voters out there, conservative, liberal, independent, Republican and Democrat, who despise Obama and his moves to destroy the sovereignty of the United States.

I don’t think Mitt Romney will run again.

I think he’s just helping the GOP.

But, that’s my feeling/opinion on it.

That is a new and strage concept to some!

It would not matter to some if Romney pulled our finaical butts out of the fire, or continue to enable the road towards...

We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

I am tired of tyrants who try to ram down anothers throats it is my way or the highway!

That is not what America is all about!

I pray Romney helps the Tea Party for it is time for a new wine bottle.

Realized the wisdom you can not put new wine in an old bottle!

He nominated Stephen Abany to a District Court.
