A moderator who wanted to keep a story posted Wednesday, April 29, 2009 2:47:01 PM at the tail end of our ludicrous breaking news sidebar saved him $100.

Up date. I felt a second, much smaller quake, just as I finished making my first post.

Just all the illegals rushing to cash their unemployment checks.

HAHA, but this is Westlake Village your talking about. I have been there since my cousin lives in Simi Valley, not an illegal in sight. That area is straight up Republican territory

Sadly, there really is nothing in Pennsylvania either.

Well, then, he’s pretty lucky.

A story that an earthquake caused one can of corn to fall off the shelf at a local supermarket is only slightly more newsworthy than one where a it was caused by a tipsy shopper hitting it with her cart.

As a veteran of Southern California, I actually should be more sympathetic. You don’t know if the 4.0 isn’t really the 8.0 a 150 miles away. You just know your house is shaking and you don’t like it.

No shaking coming from Detroit but I think it’s just because there’s nobody left.

Having lived in CA most of my life, I usually come into these FR Earthquake threads and roll my eyes at a 4.5 quake.

... However, if Northridge was the epicenter, then I'll take even a tiny quake like that lots more seriously.
