FOX's Brilliant Business Move: Ignore Obama (NWS)
Business Insider ^

Posted on 04/30/2009 11:20:28 PM PDT by FromLori

It seems Fox made the smart move by deciding not to air president Obama's 100th-day press conference. The network beat every other broadcaster, all of which were carrying the president's speech, in the ratings. Fox's new episode of Lie To Me drew 7.9 million viewers. Fox also got millions in advertising revenue by running a normal TV program instead of Obama's commercial-free address.

In second place for the 8 p.m. hour was NBC's airing of Obama's speech, which pulled in 6.7 million viewers.

Are people finally getting bored with Obama's frequent speeches?

Lie to me is a good show. Also, there is no reason for ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC to cover this. PEople can watch PBS or the cable news networks.

Lie to Me? Isn’t that what Obama’s speech was anyway?

Interesting choices on Wednesday — either watch a drama about how to catch liars or the liar in chief on TV.

Easy choice there.

I can’t wait until we’re rid of this clown in 2013.

Laura Ingraham said there was no difference between Obama’s press conference and the Fox show “Lie To Me”

The curious thing is that the numbers for the second and third (this one)...are spiraling downward. Barely 29 million watched this one. I’m guessing the week prior to the 4th of July...will be the next one....and I’ll forecast less than 22 million watch. At this rate...in November...we will be looking at less than 15 million who watch...and the big-three will give up on this deal.

We’ve basically turned this into a valueless one hour show. If we had a choice of Baywatch, or a Presidential News Conference....most of us would watch Baywatch.

When I see his face on TV, I switch channels, so I can't answer your question. Even so, I'm not missing any of his anti-American shenigans.

I imagine Axelrod and Rahm (Axelrahm?) are already scheming a way to punish Fox for daring to slight The Chosen 0ne.

I DVR’d Lie To Me and when I played it today, Obama was on! I deleted the whole thing. Are you saying they did show Lie to Me instead? Phooey. I missed it.

No, Obama’s show was Lying To Me, over and over and over again.

Where is P.T. Barnum when you need him?

Anyone know if O is using NLP or Neuro Linguistic Programming which is essentially hypnosis when someone speaks.

A person needs training in NLP. People have said he is. A lady i know who loathes him said his speech was not bad. ?!?!? I refuse to watch the usurper.

I can’t stand to look at let alone listen to the programmed rants of this professional foreign reader who desires to stand tall over the ruins of the U.S.A.

Is Rahm a diminuitive short fellow or is is head extremely
large?

Both Zer0 and Rahm look awfully thin. Maybe it’s the new
castrati look for males.

I am sick of this intellectual lighweight and impostor who imitates David Brinkley’s staccato speech pattern trying to excude gravitas. yada, yada, yada. He truly says nothing!
