I’ve consistently thought and stated (not on this site) that things are going to have to get beyond insufferable for a majority of Americans before a true change will happen. You can argue the tea parties are a sign of this, and I hope you are right.
But I honestly think we are a lazy spoiled nation that only pays attention to its own creature comforts. In my honest opinion, its going to have to get a hell of a lot worse before this nation will turn off their X-box games, their I-pods, or get off the couch to change course. It’s easy to suck down the spoon fed propaganda from the media and the White House where they are told what they want to hear. And the Dems know this. That and the educational system are they best weapons.

This past 10 days has demonstrated the extent to which The Usurper’s government is a tragic joke. There are signs The Marxist Onada and his gang have over reached. These include the Tea Parties, the failure of the US Senate to support Onada’s mortgagee bailout today and attempts by some institutions that received bail out money to give it back.
It is also possible that we may be hit by another terrorist attack. Given what The Messiah and his crowd are doing to diminish national security—making it harder for the to do its job, shuttering Guantanamo and making it harder to surveil terrorists—it’s possible the US will get hit again. And the man sitting in the WH will not be able to blame it on Bush. He’ll own that one lock, stock and barrel.
One thing I’m confident of is this. Ultimately, the communist model will fail here—just it did or is doing every where else it’s been tried.
You are correct that Americans have had it so good for so long, they have no clue what real hunger and pain are about. But the communists have never successfully bred out the human liberty spark that exists in all us humans.
