2010 could be an interesting year. Whack a few RINOs and the rest “might” could get a clue (and a spine) for 2012.

Tis time for a Bond to crush a Specter.

“Dems are going to get behind a psuedo-fiscal conservative Dem to beat Toomey. “

I think that is wishful thinking. Who is in charge of the Dem party? Liberals. Liberals hate the type of Dem you described, ie blue dogs. If Pennsylvania can continually to reelect Murtha, they will have no problem putting in an Obama/Reid crony.

Obama basically said he was going to bankrupt the coal country and Penn voters still pulled the lever for him. Toomey over Specter will be a hollow victory because Toomey will get crushed in the Senate race.

I would be willing to bet you 3 to 1 if Toomey wins, he gets beat +10 against the Dem challenger. That is the reality.

Jim, unfortunately you are right. I get tired of all these folks failing to see what you are pointing out. They simply throw the term RINO around a few times and talk about starting a 3rd party.

Can you say marginalized? Because that is the fate of the Republican party.

"Dems are going to get behind a psuedo-fiscal conservative Dem to beat Toomey. “ I think that is wishful thinking. Who is in charge of the Dem party? Liberals.

You're wrong.

Liberals USED TO BE in charge.

Now communists are in charge. They have perfected recruitment of candidates who look like middle-of-the-road types but who are reliable votes for communism once they are in.

This is a new phenomenon, and we have been unprepared to deal with it.

Toomey CANNOT beat a well-spoken, three-piece suit wearing black lawyer who runs on "hope" and "change". CAN NOT.

The voters of Pennsylvania WANT a Democrat. They will SETTLE for a RINO with seniority.

They will not elect Toomey. It's impossible.

Look at Santorum. He was a Senator, with all the advantages of seniority, and conservative but not scary. He got his ass kicked.

Do the math.

Show me.

Sure.

There are not enough Pennsylvania conservatives to elect a Senator!

Toomey's newfound support is also coming from disaffected independents and previous Specter supporters who are fed up with reckless government spending. Define PA conservatives - you're clearly talking about the religious right when it's going to be fiscal conservatives and libertarians that will give Toomey the primary win.

Recent changes in the Democratic Party assure us that their candidate will be young, attractive, probably black, and a secret communist.

Which is why Dems won't cross-over to vote for Specter. Either way you look at it, Specter is toast.

Toomy CANNOT beat such a candidate. C-A-N N-O-T.

Saying this so doesn't make it fact. The fact is, people are fed up with out of control gov't and their jobs. As long as Toomey runs on a solid fiscal conservative platform, he can't be beat.

I think that is wishful thinking.

No, it's not. Why do you think the Dems ran Bob Casey Jr against Santorum in 2006?

Who is in charge of the Dem party? Liberals. Liberals hate the type of Dem you described, ie blue dogs.

But Dems have no problems running blue dogs in elections knowing they're going to swerve to the Left. Dems are going to run a pseudo-fiscal conservative to go against Toomey because an out-and-out big gov't Dem can't win in 2010 given voter anger at spending.

If Pennsylvania can continually to reelect Murtha, they will have no problem putting in an Obama/Reid crony.

Apples and oranges. Murtha represents a district while the Senate race is state-wide.

Obama basically said he was going to bankrupt the coal country and Penn voters still pulled the lever for him.

I don't think not many PA voters even heard of this. Not everybody is a FReeper or read the blogs.

Toomey over Specter will be a hollow victory because Toomey will get crushed in the Senate race.

Toomey can win, get your head out of the sand. Dems aren't going to run a hard leftist against him in 2010 and even if Toomey does lose, I'd rather have the Dem win anyway over Specter.

There was a lot of anti-RINO and anti-Specter rhetoric when the stimulus vote was cast. Now is the time for FREEPERS to put their money where their mouths are. If you really, really want to retire Specter send Toomey a check. Not only will it administer justice to Specter, but it will send a loud and clear message to all of the others RINOs.

I don’t think so. Arlen is not going to be able to dodge this one even in 13 months. He did it to himself.

Arlen’s only chance is to have Scottish primaries.

NO to Arlen Specter. Period. He cannot win the general anyway. The only thing we can hope for is that discontent is high enough with Obama for Toomey to ride a wave in. It’s far from impossible.

...fanatical far-Left minority, which has perfected the finding of stealth candidates

You definitely hit on something here.

I was just considering how, in the not too far distant past, the biggest champions of infanticide had names like Schumer, Boxer, and Kennedy. Whereas today, the most egregious of abortionists have names like Obama and Sebelius. When I compare these two groups of vermin, I couple things strike me. First, the older group are bunch of harsh, shrill, in-your-face political hacks. Whereas the second group, with the assistance of their msm allies, put forth a phoney facade of moderation and non-partisanship. Second, while I never would have thought it possible, in actuality the second group are much more virulently pro-abortion than the first. Schumer/Boxer/Kennedy never voted against a born-alive infant protection act. Schumer/Boxer/Kennedy never personally took "Tiller the Killer" under their wing and gave him any and all forms of protection necessary.

The far-left are definitely on top of their game now -- selling the most extreme leftists to the sheeple of this nation.

The Specter should have had the good chance to retire gracefully.

Those Republicans in Pennsylvania who attended the Tea Parties last week where protesting exactly what Arlen Specter has come to stand for in the last several years - Washington.

It's US vs Washington.
