Waaaah HOOO!
From a Native Texan, who had ancestors that were Texans when it was a Republic, “Texas is a state of Mind and Heart.”
Some of us were born here, and others were not. Regardless, you can still be born a Texan.
To paraphrase a mighty article about being “Born American, but born in the wrong place.”
see: http://www.claremont.org/publications/pubid.5/pub_detail.asp
You can be Born a Texan, in a lot of other places, and still be a Texan. As long as you have the right state of Mind and Heart.
“Simply, leave us alone to live our lives and we will get along fine, if not, we will deal with it.”
One FReeper Refugee here! Just say the word and I will apply for political asylum in the Republic of Texas......
I was born a Texan, it just took me 30 years to get here!
As the son of a Texas woman, and a Texan at heart myself (hey, I even went to High School in Lubbock when I was a junior!), I must say - well said!
