Specter is a hemorrhoid on the alimentary canal of the Republican Party. When he comes down and hangs down, he is a pain in the ass. When he withdraws, you just hope he has gone away, butt it never fails that he sticks his fat head out to betray us again. Please, let us take a surgical knife and remove him from our body politic. We have strained enough to rid ourselves of this foreign body but failed to realize that he needs to be detached and discarded. If we don’t, he will bleed us to death.

As for John Cornyn, we Texans are watching. Take heed of the 17,000 Tea Party in your hometown. We meant business, even for accomplices of such malefactors as Specter. Got it? Have you really got it? Hey Michael Stephen Steele! Same goes for you too.

Mr.Steele is indeed, a great disappointment. This article, with him supporting Specter, will give me reason to use the post paid RNC envelope I got recently. I will send my opinion to Mr.Steele on supporting one of the RINOs that passed Porkulus. The RNC is so hopelessly clueless. Haven’t they lost enough to get it? We don’t want Washington elite RINOs.

Specter backed for reelection, Steele heading the RNC and Romney maybe running for potus again.

Is this the best the GOP can do?

If Spector receives the backing of the RNC, I’m out of there and will opt for forming a new party. There is some sh*t I will not eat.

Of course you are correct but the DC class of the Republicans think they know best and yours/mine/others voices/opinions dont count.

There is a huge disconnect between real people and the DC class. The base isnt going along with the RINOS anymore.... Note to the RNC/GOP choice is either you figh back or take a hike and we can find another party/candidate

What percentage of the time does Specter actually vote on the “right” side of issues versus his votes on the “left”? I don't have his scorecard of votes, but it seems to me that he is definitely more at home on the left side of the aisle.

In the past the GOP has continued to support Specter, even though he has repeatedly sided with the Dems over the Republicans, because it didn't want to lose the seat to a Democrat. Then after reelection Specter has repeatedly gone on to stab the Republicans in the back. (The GOP reminds me of Charlie Brown thinking that “this time” he will really get to kick the football held by Lucy, only to land on the ground again, for the millionth time when Lucy pulls the ball back before he can kick it.)

At this point with the imbalance in the Senate favor of Democrats, would losing the seat make any difference at all in the outcome of votes? I don't think so. The dems are going to win every time, with Specter's help. So, backing Specter simply to keep it a “Republican” seat is illogical, given that we are talking about a confirmed RINO. But backing a real Republican who might have a shot at obtaining the seat and keeping it for the Republicans at least gives us a fighting chance.
