People had doubts when Bush created DHS now that authority is in the hands of hardcore radicals.

Exactly right. The DHS was created in the wake of 9-11 to stop Islamic terrorism.
Now, the DHS has defined the enemy as right wing extremists, whom it identifies as people for lower taxes and smaller government, against gay marriage, abortion, and bailouts, and “anti immigration” (meaning illegal anti-immigration). Returning Vets are especially suspect.
In other words, within the few months Obama has been president, the DHS has morphed into an arm of the Democrat National committee.
If this isn’t bad enough, just as the Obama administration has eliminated the term “War on Terror” and replaced it with “Overseas Contingency Operations, the DHS has gone into denial about the existence of Islamic terrorism on the home front.
Do we need to eliminate waste in spending? DHS (not the military) is the place to start. The DHS is not only a waste but an imminent threat to our basic freedoms.
