Washington is too far gone.

It’s time to concentrate on state politicians and give them the incentive to reject federal control.

since the state run media declares tea parties a pubby thing, perhaps a better name for the 4th of july rallies should be something like ‘patriot rally’.

I’m reading G.K. Chesterton’s Orthodoxy and he says that humility can either be a spur to improve or a nail in your shoe slowing you down. I think that dare I say largely white, dare I say largely Christian people in this Christian have let themselves be intimidated into be humble in the sense of a nail in the shoe. I don’t know whether this can turn around.

The count of how many actual people attended tea parties across the country is tantamount to trying to figure out how many pages are in the federal income tax code. Both are so large it is impossible to get an accurate count.

Just attended the Tea Party in Philadelphia. The air was electrifying. Young and old, people of all stripes. I was talking to a vet and he was extremely angry with the HS profile. Didn’t get his name, but “I’ll keep my boots on the ground” as he advised. This could develop into a full-blown addiction.

Great job, everyone. I did want to make a comment about the rally in Atlanta.

I was in the streets with many Libertarians & Independents who expressed disappointment that the TEA Party had become an all-purpose right wing rally. Just a reminder to keep the focus on economics I think it’s a huge mistake to make this thing partisan.

Wait, I am confused. I thought the media said it was a Right Wing extremist event sponsored by the GOP and the Talk radio. The news lady here said we only had a few hundred people participate in Nashville (we had 9000) and CNN didn’t think there were enough people to warrant coverage...are you telling me that the media refused to report the accurate number?! That is NOT possible (sarc.)

I went to the Tea Party in Chattanooga and have pictures. I tried to post them to the Chattanooga Tea Party thread. Well no luck. Anyone know how to post pics to a thread?

Just like a guy — here I’m trying to figure logistics on getting myself to Wash DC — and now YOU want me to bring BBQ Beans to serve 750,000!!! HaHa

A thought — maybe we could work these events into the different County and State Fairs starting up soon. There’d be a place for a table with brochures — copies of Constitution for sale — a certain night and hour for Freeper meet-up — happy faces and serious debate for those who want it.
Keep working on that menu Jim.

Red Eye on Fox News reported 250,000. Of course,
they need to add about 1/2 million. Considering
thay are still talking about it they’ll soon realize
their estimates are too low.

Seriously, I went to my local Tea Party (30 mins. away) hoping there would be at least 3 people there.. There were 400.. Politicians have to SEE us for it to sink into their thick heads. This is just the beginning.

I think we at Free Republic - and Americans all across this Blessed land owe Rick Santelli of “The Trading Floor” an incalculable debt of gratitude.

He is the one who finally let out his anger on national television, and with that righteous, spleen-venting, long overdue release of unbridled, honest outrage, he served as THE CATALYST for hundreds of thousands - perhaps even millions of us “out here” in television and internet land.

It was Santelli who first uttered that 236 years old phrase, “Tea Party” in this modern context, and in saying out loud what others of us were surely thinking, brought it back to the forefront of our uniquely American consciousness.

Should “We the People” succeed in turning back this overly audacious, underqualified juggernaut that has us hurtling towards full-on “soft totalitarian” socialism, Rick Santelli will be deserving of the most honourable mention.

It would not be out of place for us, as FReepers, to sign our names to some sort of “E-card” and send it to him.

Anyone in agreement?

A.A.C.

Was at the tea party in Bucks County, Pa. yesterday which took place on the hallowed grounds of Washington’s Crossing Historic State Park. A beautiful day was had by all. This has got to be the beginning. We all must fight on in any way we can to reverse the madness that is coming out of Washington, D.C. on a daily basis.

We need to get those 750,000 under the Washington monument and find a very charismatic speaker, preferably an African American conservative (that would REALLY confuse the libs).

Jim, for those that cannot make the trip to DC for a march, we need to organize a “virtual March” where people can contact their congressmen and Senators with a message....
