Who says Lincoln “put an end” to anything? That isn’t written in stone if history is any guide. I’m sure that Lenin in 1920 and Queen Victorian after the Sepoy mutiny thought that they had “put an end” to secessionist movements.

That’s the way history worked out... in case you didn’t notice (of course, you wouldn’t have been there, but you should know the history).

While states may have had the so-called “right” to do so before Lincoln, after Lincoln the whole thing changed and that put an end to it.

But, as far as 10 Amendment issues and going through the courts and getting the states on board for that, I think that’s fine. But, you’ll never get the support for any secession movement in the public, at least never any significant amount to vote for it.

And the last “secession” vote in Texas was only about 66% I believe, if I remember right. Another 17 points and they would have never done it — even back then...
