...obviously slaves were NOT FREE to swear to ANTHING...

And the Great Slaver Rebellion of 1861 was started to KEEP IT THAT WAY!

actually, you are bright enough to KNOW that what you posted in # 363 is FALSE.

tell us, WHY did so many Blacks volunteer to fight for the CSA, IF you are correct that the war was "about" or even "mostly about" preserving slavery???

were the Black volunteers TOO STUPID to KNOW what they were fighting/dying FOR??? (a simple YES or NO, please.)

also, even IF you believe that southern Blacks were TOO STUPID to know what they were fighting for, what were the 95% of NON-slaveowners fighting for???

obviously, NOT for keeping slaves that they did NOT own (and in most cases could NOT have afforded IF they wanted slaves) further, NOBODY, who was reasonably sane, would be willing to DIE for "some rich guy's right to own slaves". (T Harry Williams, for ONE historian, has RIGHTLY pointed out that TWBTS was a CLASS WAR of the POOR against the RICH/PRIVILEDGED & that the NEXT TARGET of the glayclads (had they won against the DAMNyankees) likely would have been against "the plantation aristocracy".)

the TRUTH is that the "slavery was all" thesis of the REVISIONIST LEFT is STUPID, KNOWINGLY dishonest & defies "common sense". - it's really no more complicated than: "freeing the slaves", as an excuse for the war, was a phony EXCUSE of the ELITES of the north to keep their boot-heel on southern necks.
