It isn’t tongue in cheek to many of the posters here. That’s the point. It may be fun for a few but some are serious.
I like Texas. I like their ‘in your face’ moves right now. But some don’t know it is for show.
This post was not for the humor impaired....you’re getting close to being in that segment.
You are quite correct.
I’ve been paying on my mortgage for 13 years now. In ‘96 my modest ‘single-family clapboard dwelling’ cost $86,900.
We didn’t buy a bigger house because we knew we would always be able to make the payment on this one. Our little piece of the American Dream.
Now, why in the world should I allow the government to take my tax money and give it away to someone who bought a house 3 times bigger on an income less than mine, simply because that dummy assumed he could sell his house later at a higher price, found out he can’t, and is now bankrupt? Why? Why should anyone pay for someone else’s stupid mistakes? This is supposed to be America. First we bail out the banks, then the car companies, then the free-loaders who can’t make their mortage payments.
No. No I won’t. It’s not moral. It’s a deal-breaker. Go Texas!!
Texans have spilled a lot of blood for The United States. We are a very proud state and we love to brag about her and pick fights with everyone else, but more than anything, we love our country first. The American flag hangs high in Texas, no matter how braggadocios about our own plot of land we get. No true Texan would ever turn their backs to the United States.
Pretty bold statement for a (soon-to-be) starving pilgrim.
