I was there today, too. I estimated the crowd at between 500 and 1000 when I left at 5:15. However, there were many more people still arriving, so I’m sure the total number was over 1000.

I heard an estimate much higher than that, between 3,000 and 5,000, actually.
I, personally, tried to count the people lined up on the street, and then multiply by the number of “layers” and I was WELL over 1000, before I even got close to the podium.
And, there were people BEHIND the podium as well, and people arriving and leaving all the time!
We were OUTSIDE and it looked very crowded to me.
To make it look like a big crowd, in an OPEN FIELD is difficult to do.
Anyway, I am pretty sure the 3,000 to 5,000 is a very conservative estimate, from someone who had been on the stage and looked over the crowd. (The PUMA lady, sorry I forget her name).
Susan Estes, the AFP organizer, wanted to be safe, and said “at least 1,000” into the microphone when I asked her.

By the way, I tried to take pictures of State Rep. Jason Watkins but they did not turn out.

Also, Vickie Tiahrt was scheduled to speak but I had to leave before Vickie could even find a parking spot anywhere near the podium.

Senator Sam Brownback also spoke.

It is nice to be in Kansas, where at least a few of our elected officials oppose this crazy tax and spend government!
