Regardless of the actual possibility of a secession, every GOP governor should make an identical public statement.

It's time to push back against the oscumbo propaganda machine.

Rattle their cages!

Can't argue with that. IMHO and FWIW, I believe Gov Perry gave a good deal of thought to how he would broach the subject. Texas being in a "unique" position within the States' hierarchy, I suspect he realized whatever he did or said about the 10th Amendment and other "sovereignty" initiatives could set the tone for what is to follow. I DON'T see it as political grandstanding as some have implied since a strong position on this issue could cut both ways. I think he really wanted to be able to put Texas in a position to run "interference" for other States wanting to join the fray but lack the resources Texas has. Sort of like a big brother, if you will.

All of which raises an interesting what if question; that is, what if a goodly number of governors, Pubbie or otherwise, could be brought together and issue an open letter or joint proclamation to DC telling them to back off? Would a joint proclamation of, say, 15 - 20 State governors be enough to freeze the federal leviathan in its tracks?
