I just got back from the Richmond, Virginia Tea Party. I didn’t think I’d be able to go, but at the very last minute it worked out. Unfortunately I didn’t have my camera with me.
As we got closer to the event site traffic got pretty bad, but we managed to find parking fairly easily. We saw a LOT of people walking towards Kanawha Plaza with signs in tow.
When we reached the site it was 6 p.m., the event was beginning. There were so many people there that I never did get to actually SEE the stage. I could see an sea of signs....everywhere! And lots of umbrellas....it was raining and cold.
I can’t really estimate the turnout as I never could find a vantage point to look at the crowd. I do know that Kanawha Plaza was too small for everyone. One of the speakers estimated over 5000 people.
The turnout was GREAT, the speakers were GREAT and there was just a good vibe all around. I’m so glad it worked out that I could go.
I look forward to seeing pictures!
