There will be no elections in 2010 so this doesn’t matter.

You might be right. The "Messiah" will find some emergency as an excuse.

Thus ends the pretence of abiding by the Constitution.

Now - will the Freepers that keep preaching that we MUST support the GOP at all costs please turn in your resignation at the door...

Seriously, unconditional support of the GOP brings unconditional support by the GOP for these RINOs that in some ways are worse that the DemocRATS... AT least with the RATS, we know exactly what we are getting...

Why back a guy who's going down for at least 25 years?

Send them a coupon for tea. When you mail them actual tea-bags, they must be inspected the same as they would inspect any “gift” for a toxic risk (e.g. white powder).

No sense in contributing to that paranoia.

This is one more, solid reason to spit on the current national "leadership" of the Republican Party. If they are really supporting the weaselly gasbag known as Arlen Spector, then the national GOP is beyond saving.

Congressman Billybob

When I posted that, it was because the stupid party couldn’t do any worse by nominating Spector, shades of Sideshow Bob aside...

I have a feeling that everyone will be surprised by the turnouts of the TEA parties on the 15th

I don't. There will likely be record crowds when you tally the totals from all the parties going on across the nation... but with a virtual media blackout - no-one will know but those who are there. Then it becomes the old proverbial "preaching to the choir" and nothing will come of it.

This won't stop me from joining the local TEA Party, but still...

If his job is to keep the GOP votes, then he’s going about it the wrong way.

No way in Hell is Specter getting my vote. I’ll do all I can to campaign against him. We, the people of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are fed up with his “Scottish Law” BS and most of all his voting record. He and all the ilk like him make my blood boil. He has to go. And, we all know where.

I’m going against the grain here, but it makes perfect political sense. We can’t have Specter backing card check again. That’s what’s at stake here. Therefore, public support must continue on the sitting senator. Once he loses the primary, then the GOP can endorse and support the nominee. This move is purely political.

Deep down, I would hope that Cornyn can’t stomach the backstabbers, but it would be political suicide if he doesn’t publicly. In this case, I give Cornyn the benefit of the doubt based on that. With that clown from Minnesota about to be seated, we need all the bodies we can get. Remember, 0 still has more socialist-communist crap he wants passed by Congress and we have to deny as much as possible.

It truly is not personal, it’s business.

This is VERY disappointing -- I lost much respect when Bush/Rove made a big push to get Specter the last time he ran.

The Senatorial Campaign Committee needs to be "defunded" by Republican donors across the country.

That's precisely why dirtbags like Specter continue to return like the "Dawn of Dead."

Shut Specter Down!!!!!
