National GOP to Back Specter
American Spectator ^ | on 4.14.09 @ 4:28PM | By W. James Antle, III

National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Cornyn has thrown his weight behind Sen. Arlen Specter, who is likely to face a tough renomination fight against former Club for Growth President Pat Toomey:

"My job as head of the NRSC is to guide the GOP back to a majority in the Senate," wrote Cornyn to Pennsylvania Republicans. "I can't do that without Arlen Specter. With him as our nominee, I can target our campaign resources toward beating Democrats and growing the Senate Republican Conference."

"I can't do that without Arlen Specter..."

Hey Cornyn...go to Hell! I have it on good state GOP authority that Specter is finished in Pennsylvania.

BTW, not one more dime from me to the RNC!

Are you under the impression that Senator Cornyn is reading this thread?

So now Cornyn’s a RINO, too?

Deep down, I would hope Cornyn wouldn’t support the back stabbers....” Then how about he just keeps his mouth shut?

Psssst...maybe Cornyn should just keep his damned mouth shut on the issue and let Specter fall down on his own sword.

You have my permission to tell him and your buddy McCain I said that....

I hope Toomey takes out Specter in the primary.

But, you and your ilk are getting tiresome. You really need to toughen up and help more conservatives win more elections instead of coming on threads like this whining like a petulant schoolgirl.

I mean, how many times can you threaten to withhold your contributions (which were probably negligible in the first place)?

Cornyn has been kind of sucky lately.

Indeed. He shows signs and symptoms of becoming a Washingtonian. Too bad. I thought he might have potential.

There will be no elections in 2010 so this doesn’t matter.

I have my doubts as well.

What a stupid, friggin idiot. The GOP - RIP.

I haven't given the party a penny since before 2006 when they tried to shove amnesty down our throats. I'll never give those idiots anything again.

These RINO's are why we had Corker as a Tennessee Senate candidate instead of the conservative Van Hilleary. The party pushed Corker on us, and he barely beat the crook from Memphis.

Knock it off, cedric! If I remember correctly, you're the McCain fan around here, so that speaks volumes about YOUR credibility on helping Conservatives win elections.

Fully 98.6% of all House and Senate Republicans voted AGAINST the Obama Porkulus bill.

Doesn't that count fer sumpin’?

Everybody - not a single thin dime to the NRSC, NRCC, or the RNC! Give only to the individual campaigns of conservative candidates! Who cares what the national party does, WE can beat them.

No contributions to the National Republican Senatorial committee unless they change their minds. Support conservative candidates individually in your state.

No, since it's apparently a better idea to waste time and money on pissant little third parties that have been going nowhere fast for years.

Since taking back a major party is too tough for the whiners and losers, I guess.

Obviously, small individual contributions have no meaning to the GOP. Otherwise, they wouldn't continue to do the opposite of what the vast majority of people want. It appears that votes don't matter to them either.
