I’ll second that. This is what happens when security is delegated to the international community. The right to keep and bear arms needs to apply to any American vessels. They should be considered as soverign states/property and afforded the 2nd amendment right.

We should also take out these 3rd rate strongholds to kill these pests at their source


sorry but this is just impossible, because to reach this the US would have to accept the same standart for other nations too. (will not happen). Just imagine a chinese freighter entering a US port and their crew is armed to the teeth. US will not accept that. Or a south american ship would enter and US is not allowed to control it because it´s soverign states/property. the drug smugglers would love this.
and yes “we” should take out the pirates strongholds.

Currently, when a ship approaches a harbor anywhere, it is met by a boat, a harbor pilot comes aboard, and the pilot guides the ship to the appropriate dock. If a ship had guns aboard, part of the harbor pilot's job could be to put a lock on the arms locker, which would be removed when the ship left port.
