I agree. I want roads and public schools and I don’t want to organize building and running them. So, I’m willing to pay the government to do that for me.

I don’t want to pay for my perfectly able landlady who was laid off and got 6 months of unemployment. She then got that 6 months extended to 1 year “because of the bad economy”. The obvious problem is not that we don’t tax enough, but that we allow the government to spend and waste on so many things that are really disservices to the country.

Of all the things to control, the forming of the minds of youth by government is the worst.

Besides, there is little need for them anyhow, save in the frozen imagination.

Schools were made when information was scarce and expensive. Now it is free.

Home schools, Internet degrees at even the post graduate level are common, will continue, and the price will drop to near zero, or even be paid.

The schools will be like the industrial ruins of Detroit, or the thousands of labor camps of Siberia.

People, individuals need to learn.
Schools are schools are primarily job project for low level college graduates that can not do productive labor, but are not smart enough for skilled professions.
