Of course... The orders were probably “If you can free him without endangering his life, then do so. If not, then don’t.”
That way, he can take the credit if it comes out good, and deflect the blame if it turns out bad.
Just curious..why was Fub0 calling the shots on this one??
just some great work by our men out there huh?
Yep. They done good!
What's even more amazing is 53% of the voters had no problem with that...
If BO gets a little pop for this, fine.
Most know that if this had all gone down in exactly the same manner 1 year prior, Bush would be said to have recklessly endangered the lives of many with his cowboy foreign policy.
How very “aggorant” of the US to act so unilaterally.
“Obama is showing his cowboy swagger”
What, nor more pimp walk?
OK., give him credit...
Bammy FINALLY did SOMETHING right!

“If Obama had ordered this, the Navy wouldn’t be falling all over themselves pointing out that the one loophole in Obamas direction that they used, i.e. imminent danger. They got a clear shot and they took it. Imminent danger is the CYA statement that is being used to show that they did not violate the restrictive Rules of Engagement. “
....you are exactly right.
We must follow this very closely to make sure that the captain who gave this order is not secretly punished later.
This is not entirely the truth.

At the press conference they kept badgering the Admiral over whether Capt. Phillips was reallllllly in danger. Gee, guys...being held captive for four days by pirates with weapons is not like being invited over for a poker game. Then the cry baby from NPR demanded to know how those pirates died and who was responsible—was it the SEALS??? The Admiral refused to answer. The CNN wimp asked if violence would now escalate because everyone knows that pirates are a “non-violent” bunch. Another gal named Courtney was very concerned about the pirates’ remains. The Admiral should have laughed in their faces but he was quite patient and polite.
The true unsung behind the scenes hero in this was undoubtedly the USN captain of the Bainbridge who took ownership and responsibility and ordered the action.
You said — Im really amazed the range was only 25 to 30 meters, if the reports are correct.

Well, that was thanks to the “set-up” that they did — to get everything all ready-to-go for the take-down...
They first reduced the numbers of the pirates around the hostage by convincing one of them to be on board the Naval vessel to be the “negotiator”. The Navy fooled them into believing they were going to negotiate...
That left the remaining “stupid ones” on the lifeboat.
The Navy also convinced them that the Navy could be “good guys” and help the pirates out by “towing” their lifeboat (doncha know... LOL...). So, the Navy put them on a short tow line, making it so they were real close (for the shot, doncha know... LOL...).
And then when everyone was “in sight” — they went “bang”... and that was that... :-)
hussein NEVER made a decision but instead he has hidden behind the book now for an entire week. If this had gone badly... the Commander would now be facing the end of his career.

No question about it.
Yea, he IS The One! None can withstand him.
I just cannot stand him.
“You know that if George W. Bush had done this, Obama and the libs would have been trashing him left and right for displaying his cowboy swagger.”
Then they would condemn him for waiting 4 days before he did something.
