77% of American Jews (3% of the electorate) who voted supported Obama. Obama’s not about to do too much alienation of that support which was second only in strength to his black support. That’s why there was a Seder service for Passover at the White House on Thursday night.

ussia is highly unlikely to take the US’s place in supporting Israel, there is still a tremendous amount of anti-semetism in Russia and many Russian born Israelis are atheists who are Jewish in culture only, having grown up in the communist Soviet Union.
The conservative, religous parties in Israel do not trust them.

Not really. Liberal American Jews don't much care about Israel. They have made their choices and they have chosen to assimilate here and enjoy American peace and prosperity.
