Pirates are moving a hijacked German freighter into position as a reinforcement in a stand-off with the US Navy over an American hostage.
The Hansa Stavanger is heading to the area in the Indian Ocean where cargo ship captain Richard Phillips was seized, a pirate source said.
The 20,000-ton ship, which was taken a week ago between Kenya and the Seychelles, has a crew of 24, of whom five are German.
Fox News correspondent Greg Palkot, who is in the Kenyan port of Mombasa, told Sky News: "What the pirates are saying they intend to do is transfer the American and the four pirates from the lifeboat onto this other boat.
"They think the Americans wouldn't attack one or the other because they would be afraid of killing people."
The pirates holding Phillips have demanded $2m (£1.6m) for his release and a guarantee of their own safety.

No, I don’t see it as our problem, at all. It’s really the rest of the world’s problem. The real problem we have is doing all this stuff for the rest of the world, and having to pay the bill for it all.
I say — if the rest of the world really wants to do something about this, then they can come to us and ask us about it, and then figure out how much to pay us for all the costs we’ll incur, and then we’ll take care of it.
If the rest of the world doesn’t care enough to “pay the bill” — then let them deal with it themselves...

Apparently the rest of the world, with all the other ships hijacked and the ransoms paid by others — doesn’t seem to think this is “getting out of hand”. They haven’t bothered to do a thing about it for the longest time. So, if the rest of the world hasn’t bothered — then why should the U.S. bother about it?
Let them take care of it...
And that video just a few minutes ago on YouTube I saw was about the last straw.
WHAM! He slams closed his Presidential briefing tablet with that big gold Presidential eagle on it, scowling at the press with a look of audacity that he is actually challenged and pressed on his leadership--rather than showing leadership and resolve at such a time. I don't even think CLINTON or CARTER were this pathetic. And that says a lot.... YOU BETTER BELIEVE THIS RUNS ON AL-JAZEERA TV in that part of the world and runs in Arabic and henceforth makes it to Somali media as well, the response of the man the pirates truly are challenging.
We all knew this is what this Obama is made of; I think what is surprising is that it has all come about so fast, within just three months.
I suspect the buyers remorse sets in with a lot of foolish (or hoodwinked) voting Americans. If not, and they cannot even see what is happening by this time and through this incredible national and international drama, then America itself is truly doomed, and a nation of dumbed down libertines opiated by bread, circuses and TV is what brought it down.

The pirates are using Satelite phone to communicate. The phone also has a gps feature so that you can locate them.
The US should be monitoring all satelite phone communications..especially those.

You can go to MEMRI and get English translation of Syrian news dispatches, that say in clear Arabic that the United States has LOST under Obama, and that now Syria and Islam are to discuss matters with the United States on ITS terms. WHY ARE NOT THESE BROADCASTS AND STATEMENTS BEING TOLD TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE?
Because they will expose their boy, Obama, as being very weak in the eyes of the world. Everyone but the Americans will come to know this common fact. In fact, probably most Americans ironically we be the LAST to know/and learn, about their new president and how he is viewed by the hostile members of the world community.
Why should Obama care about the crews? It's just some middle-class white guys, who might even have voted Republican.

But, it is the other countries’ problems and not ours... it’s about time that they stop catering to the pirates and stop paying them money. Why should the U.S. “pay for” the problem that they’ve been “pandering to” for several years now?
This is real folks, Obama and Co. refuse to do the only thing these pirates will respect/fear, the use of our Armed Forces whatever it be...
