He should have equal custody. Period.
You can bet your ass the Palins would or will be making him pay child support.
He should sue Bristol if they refuse equal custody.

Yeppers.

This is where the rubber meets the road, for anyone espousing "family values".

Anyone who talks about the importance of families will surely not want this father excluded from this child.

Fathers either are critical to the moral and social development of children or they are not.

Which is it going to be?

Father are entitled to see their children, regardless of the political aspirations of the child's grandmother, or how much the father's actions may hurt those aspirations.

This guy may be an idiot, but Briston Palin hand picked him to be the father, and she is stuck with her decision and him for the next 18-21 years.

As I've told my kids more times than I can count: If you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to serve as a horrible warning.

Nothing is “equal” when it comes to two minors procreating. If either of the “kids,” once they become “adults” at 18, are still dependents, this further complicates it.

Fathers and father figures are crucial to society. However, delinquent fathers are not. If they do not provide help economically or through other help, they are effectively not a “parent.”

Bristol did pick him. When she is truly on her own, she can take full responsibility for that decision. Until then, he’s just an underage sperm donor and to him, she was just a fun time.
