Levi Johnston's Mom "Begging" Palin Family Not to Keep Tripp From Them (wants meeting with Sarah)
US Magazine ^ | 1 hour ago

Posted on 04/09/2009 10:04:24 AM PDT by lewisglad

part two of his CBS Early Show interview, Levi Johnston - the 19-year-old father of Sarah Palin's grandson - continued to accuse the Palin family of keeping him from spending time alone with his 3-month-old son, Tripp.

Levi's mother, Sherry Johnston, also claimed the family won't let her see her grandson and wants a pow-wow with the Palins to work out a custody arrangement.

In a perfect world, "everything will be reconciled," Sherry said. "[I hope] we can get together, if for no other reason, [than] for Tripp. He deserves to know both grandmas and grandpas, and aunts and uncles. And mom and dad."

"I had a really rough summer," added Sherry, who faces six felony counts of possessing and selling the prescription painkiller OxyContin.

After her arrest, she said the arrival of her grandson "was what kept me going. Just waiting for him."

Wiping tears from her eyes, she added, "I mean, Bristol and I talked about it a lot. Just like, 'Well, you'll have Tripp soon. And he'll be there for you.'"

"You're still waiting"? Rodriguez asked.

"I'm hoping," Sherry said. "I'm begging."

Levi said that while he talks to Bristol, 18, "every day, every other day," the conversations are "real short."

"You know, I call her to see -- see how my baby's doing," he said. "That kind of thing. But we don't really sit there and talk. Like, 'How are you -- how you been?' I mean, she's real short with me."

Tell Us: Whose side are you on - Levi or Bristol's?

No, it's a way to preempt Sarah Palin’s 2012 run for president by constantly floating negative articles into the public conscienceness.

Oh, that's certainly why the media is doing it. I was just wondering what was "in it" for the Johnston family -- I think they're trying to basically extort the Palins somehow.

I think they're just getting massaged by the producers of the various shows to keep the story going. You haven't lived till a producer for a talk show decides you're a "get".

Remember, ABC sent an entire film crew to Alaska a couple of weeks ago to ambush Levi in his truck.

Like they did with Richard Clarke, Scott McClellan, Meghan McCain, Anita Hill, Newt's gay sister, and all the others, the Democrats will use him as a club for as long as they can, then they'll cut him loose.

I don't believe this kid thinks he'll get anything from the Palins.

So Levi should go to court, set up his child support payments and get his visitation rights granted through the court. What does MSM, or Larry King have to do with this?

I read on a thread last week that Levi’s mom has a new defense lawyer.

Who works for the Democrat party in Alaska.

Figures.

It is absolutely disgusting that the liberal media is using the Johnston’s to trash Sarah, Bristol, Tripp, and the entire Palin family.

Bristol did the right thing by dumping this loser....and it was the best thing for her child. Gosh, Tripp’s non-Governor granma may be heading to prison for pushing drugs.

Personally, I would rather have my child visiting the Governor’s mansion than the state penitentiary.

And, I think this all will help Sarah in the long run, if she runs for President in 2012. It keeps her in the news...and it keeps conservatives support strong for Sarah. Look, Alaska is far away from the mainland...and any attention for an Alaskan in the contiguous 48 states is good, in the long run.

As for Dr Laura...she is a fraud. She spends so much time trashing people for their fallables....yet had no problem doing nude photos for her boyfriend some years ago (and this was before “sexting” on cell phones was common).

As for those claiming Levi has “fathers rights”....remember that with rights, comes responsibility. Going on TV and media to trash the mom of your child....with your drug-dealing mom in tow....is not “responsibility”

As for Levi Johnston becoming a “movie star”....sure he will....it’s call “porn”. With a name like that...he would not have to change his name to be a porno star

Of course, Levi has rights. He is Tripp's father. However, if he is living with his mother the Judge would take that into consideration when deciding custody/visitation rights.

I feel that Levi has joint legal custody of the baby. It is entirely possible that he could get some physical custody if he was living away from his mother's problems.

I disagree with Dr. Laura on this one, too. Tripp is being raised in a household with a stable, loving environment with his natural mother and her family who can provide for him.

The eventual custody arrangements with Levi will be ok, if he ends up spending the time with him he now claims he will. If he gets his acting gig he may find himself to busy to filfill his end of the arrangements that are achieved.

Bristol will eventually find and marry a better mate than Levi and will raise Tripp just fine. And they will all live happily ever after.

Unless she put him on the birth certificate without being married to her he might not have any rights to him unless he wants to prove paternity. After seeing him on TV I can understand why they might not want him seeing the baby.

What does the governor’s security issues have to do with a father’s right to see his child? Hint: nothing at all. The father has a right to see his child and the security concerns of a 3rd party (the grandparent) has very little to do with preventing him from seeing his baby.

And if the father’s mother is a risk because she was arrested for drugs, is the grandfather’s sister a risk since she was arrested this past week for breaking and entering?

Or does that risk only apply to the father’s side of the family?

If the “kid” needs security, wouldn’t it be wise for both parents to stay out of the media, or does that only apply to the father, and not the the mother’s interview with Greta Van Sustern on Fox, or the mother’s responses reported by Entertainment Tonight?

Being a jerk is not grounds to deny him visitation.

True... as long as he's not the only jerk in the household. By all other reports so far his family sounds like a real bunch of "winners."

So, this young woman should force the young man to go through a paternity test since she isn’t sure he’s the father?

What does that say about your opinion of her?

Or should she do it simply to harass him, if she’s sure he is the father?

Which is it?

One of the scariest aspects for young people is falling for some dimwit who turns out to be a jerk. If you have a baby together, you are attached forever. The jerk and their family have influence over your child when you are not around. That is a pretty good nightmare to me. It is something everyone should think of before even dating, certainly before the first kiss. Even so, keeping the baby was the right decision after a bad one.

Given his mother's drug bust, I can understand them denying him "alone" time.

Innocent until proven guilty.

A Photo op is not leadership.Nor is flowery talk or holding a rifle. What we can do is look at her judgement in difficult situations. She cannot get a grip on her own household.

She is still a rookie. If the republicans put her up in 2012 it will be an admission of defeat in August.

I am not suggesting she is stupid or not sincere. She is just a rookie.

“I've been noticing that CNN & MSNBC are all over this story, in their desire to keep trashing Sarah Palin”

I have had MSNBC and CNN removed from my lineup.

I think we are powerful enough to boycott the the companies that advertise on Chris Matthews show and CNN.
Now is a very good time because they really need revenue.
Who will join me? Or am I dreaming.

You must’ve misread what I said, I said that unless she listed him as the father on the BC that he really has no claim until HE proves that he is the father. Now if she listed him as the father and he admitted it what I said doesn’t matter.

Legally if Bristol listed him on the birth certificate he has rights, if she left that part blank then it would be up to him to pay for and prove he is the Dad if he wants rights to him. That was my point nothing to do with what she knows.Unless a girl is sure she is going to stay with the guy having a child out of wedlock sometimes it’s better to leave that part blank.

I read what you said. I ask you: Who would he prove it to and why?

I'm saying to you that if he claims he is the father, and she's acknowledged it (given interviews, dragged him around the country on the campaign trail, etc), no court will demand he take a test. They've both agreed to it in the past, in public.

Courts takes the word of parents and do not demand a paternity test unless one side asks for it. That is how it works.

The only person who can demand a paternity test if he claims that he is the father is the mother (through the courts, of course). But why would she do that?

Are you are saying that she actually thinks that she can make a claim stick that he isn't the father, or that she should demand it to make his life difficult?

If she knows he is the father, it would be dishonest, hurtful and nasty to say otherwise, wouldn't you agree?

I'm sure she isn't that sort of person. Aren't you?
