Reporters gave this guy such a free pass all the time..... never grilled him even on his obvious foolery like talking about “57 states” or not knowing that his home state of Illinois shares a border with Kentucky.....
Of course the Rs were incompetent as usual, they could have made up a devastating attack ad about Obama’s ignorance, but McCain insisted on rolling over and the party and the outside groups never got it in gear.
