Cannot understand why Pit Bulls are allowed in this country. There's no significant difference in temperment between pit bulls and any other terrier. They are strong, energetic, and very social dogs.
The problem is with owners who think having a tough, mean dog is "cool". Used to be these folks would have German Shepherds, then it was Dobermans, then Rottweilers. Now it's the Pit Bulls.
Get rid of the Pit Bulls, and these idiots would get some other kind of dog, Akitas, Mastiffs, Airedales, whatever, and the dogs they'd get would be just as dangerous as their Pit Bulls, because it's not the dog that is the problem, it's the way the idiots are raising them.
Sorry Man, just not so!!!

Beg to differ. Against my advice, my son got a pit bull puppy. He had four girls at the time aged 5, 2, 1, and 1 (twins). My question to him at the time was "Just how many spare daughters do you have?"
One day when the pup was about 10 months old he put the two year old's head in his mouth and was clamping down. Her mother responded to the screams and disengaged the dog and gave first aid to the cuts. Later when my son got home he and the dog made a one-way trip to the woods.
What's really sad is that now he won't have any dog in the house and the kids are missing out on just how much companionship a good dog can bring to the family.
much of what you say is true, but a dog biting someone is a little different than a dog that is bred to kill someone..A pure bred pit is a beautiful animal. But not something I would want to be around..They go off when the urge hits them. Killing is their business. Just as killing is a wolfs business....
