With all due respect, this (tossing him out before the primary) is the last thing we should do.
We need to beat him in the GOP primary, decisively, because then he is done. This is due to the PA “sore loser” that prohibits the loser of a primary from running the the general as an indy or for the other party.
Tossing him now actually gives him a better chance of remaining in office, IMHO.

Huh...what about Toomey running as an I if Specter gets the GOP nomination?

Allow me to defer to someone more knowledgeable of Pennsylvania politics.

He's got to be taken out coldly and quickly....if for no other reason than to send the red-hot message to any potential GOP traitors or RINOs that they better not even THINK of emulating Benedict Arlen in any way, shape or form.

he revolution has started in the GOP where I live. There are a lot of hurt feelings and moaning about extremists trying to take over the Party. The extremists they are talking about are insisting that our elected representatives and future candidates adhere to the Party platform and the United States Constitution.
Given the GOP under the Bushes that is an extreme idea. It actually threatens the existence of the Party, according to some. My response is that “You have to brake eggs to make an omelete.” I know, that is a cliche, but when I watch some of the old guard at meetings a strange thing has been happening. They have begun to look like eggs. Isn’t that weird?

If the GOP can take out Daschle, a Democrat, they can punt one of their own in a heartbeat.

We should be doing the same to Snowe and Collins. They are every bit as much, slit nosed, sleep with the enemy, whores, as Specter.
