Japan Defense Ministry just a few minutes ago, states (as they revised their information where they stopped tracking the missile) out to 2100 km into the Pacific...and can not confirm second stage separation (location, details), just now.

If I am not mistaken this could in fact then lead to the conclusion the missile went much further than earlier reports or even achieved orbit for a satellite.
