Yeah that was my thought. Nice looking cover, not enough guts. 6.5 / 7 mm / 7.62 would add a lot of punch.
The more I learn about ballistics and see what is being done in the long-range world, the more I find myself gravitating to 6.5mm - in some form factor. There’s so many to choose from:
6.5x55 Swede,
6.5x47 Lapua
.260 Rem (a .308 necked down to 6.5mm)
.264 WinMag (a barrel-burning SOB, tho)
6.5x06 (.30-06 necked down)
6.5x284 Win (same results as a 6.5x06, in a short action)
And now the 6.5 Creedmore.
I think I’m going to build me a boomstick in the last one.
