The message from Israel's new prime minister is stark: if the Obama administration doesn't prevent Tehran from developing nuclear weapons, Israel may be forced to attack.
An Atlantic exclusive by Jeffrey Goldberg
In an interview conducted shortly before he was sworn in today as prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu laid down a challenge for Barack Obama. The American president, he said, must stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weaponsand quicklyor an imperiled Israel may be forced to attack Irans nuclear facilities itself.
The Obama presidency has two great missions: fixing the economy, and preventing Iran from gaining nuclear weapons, Netanyahu told me. He said the Iranian nuclear challenge represents a hinge of history and added that Western civilization will have failed if Iran is allowed to develop nuclear weapons.
In unusually blunt language, Netanyahu said of the Iranian leadership, You dont want a messianic apocalyptic cult controlling atomic bombs. When the wide-eyed believer gets hold of the reins of power and the weapons of mass death, then the entire world should start worrying, and that is what is happening in Iran.
History teaches Jews that threats against their collective existence should be taken seriously, and, if possible, preempted, he suggested. In recent years, the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has regularly called for Israel to be wiped off the map, and the supreme Iranian leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, this month called Israel a cancerous tumor.

Interesting move on Bibi’s part. No argument from me. I think it’s a perfectly timed, strategic and important message the yokel in our WH needs as he boards the plane for the G-20 in Londonistan.
The topics of discussion at the G-20 have just been expanded, and perhaps prioritized.
Thanks.
We’ve already violated Article II, Section 1 with this Presidency...
This message is not “stark.” On the contrary, it is HOPEFUL!! Hussein is not about to bomb his own people, annoy the left and lose contributors from Saudi Arabia! Go to it Bibi!!! And for Gods sake, don’t back down. And DON’T believe anything Hussein tells you.
We’ll see if any action is taken...before it is too late.
This should get interesting. I doubt this will make bambi grow a pair, but at least we know someone will protect us from Iran.
That’s what I’m thinking.
Go to it Netanyahu!
It’s too bad America’s stuck with Obama — the limp wristed TOTUS!
STE=Q
I don’t think Barry has the balls to use military force against Israel any more than he would Iran. He’s just gonna do what he’s always done...vote “present”.
YUP!
THX.
I’m SO glad Bibi is back, his bluntness is refreshing.
He’ll have to go it alone, there’s no way O will ever attack a muslim nation since he’s muslim himself.
Anyone else notice how O’s hair is starting to turn white?

Barry couldn't say that without a teleprompter
The only thing the Kenyan is overwhelmed with is the parties at the White House and trying to get his mug on TV as often as possible.
Bibi ping
Hussein will threaten Israel in return. Muslims will be protected. Israel, Britian, India, bitter clingers to guns and religion will at best be ignored, at worst threatened. It’s a new world order.
Now that Bibi is the PM, the sky seems bluer, the air fresher, and the world in general seems to have become a better place. As opposed to the way things were when those corrupt, appeasing, festering pustules of Kadima were in charge.
