I'm not driven by "fear". I'm driven by a cold fury that free American citizens are intimidated enough by our very own "representative" government and their anti-gun fascist controllers that we perceive we need to do this - despite the clear language in our Constitution.

These budding tyrants are like abusive boyfriends. They never can accumulate enough control over their victims and they surely don't want them free to live their own lives in peace or even say "no".

What they are afraid of is what the abusive boyfriend is afraid of - that we will have the means to take violent action against their constant abuse, and just might. And you know something? If pushed hard enough, we just might...

Could we be witnessing an attempt by Cabela’s to use their market power to corner the ammo supply from manufacturers?

I think another part of this is the very real expectation that the dollar might devalue significantly. In a bad hyperinflation scenario, bad enough to cause civil unrest, lead and brass (ammo) could become a defacto "currency." Some of the ammo sales are probably "hedge investments."

And the "tag and tax" that the liberals keep threatening will also create a black market for ammunition, and increase the value of people's stockpiles.

The only thing that would convince me would be mass resignations. That seems unlikely to happen.

So, I remain "concerned", and waiting for my stuff. :(.

I had to pause with the idea that a neighbor, not a friend, would dmeand ammunition from the shooting hobbyist. I'd tell him to pound sand!

Reloaded ammo is, as you say your personal responsibility. I am sure of my reloads but I wouldn't let anyone else take a chance with them.

I think that I read DPMS, has a 36 mo waiting list on AR 15s

I hope that every rifle ordered is ultimately delivered, but I'm really not optimistic about the chances. Even though the wholesalers are paying for them, a new ban could easily prohibit transfer as well as manufacture, screwing over countless purchasers whose evil black guns are "still in the pipeline".

Also, with the stuff gong on with GM and Chrysler, I really don't like the fact that DPMS, Bushmaster, Remington, etc. are owned by Cerberus. Those companies are tiny compared to the automaker and could easily become "bargaining chips".
