There is a second kind of optimist, who sees the good in any situation even though quite aware that it is crammed with evil. He will outlast the “realist.”
No, no, we’re miscommunicating. By optimist, I mean positivist...as in refusing to accept they can die and whatnot. There are ample studies on the subject. My term for “realist” was in attempt to describe the very thing you are. Someone who knows it’s bad and acknowledges it, but will not accept defeat, despite all tangible evidence to the contrary, but holds on. Think “Hart’s War.”
