The Old Testament God of revenge disappeared when Jesus gave his life as our atonement. You calling these heart-wrenching deaths "justice" is ignorant and makes this unbelievable tragedy even sadder.
“The Old Testament God of revenge disappeared when Jesus gave his life as our atonement.”
That is not fully correct. Jesus said that He did not come to abolish the law of the prophets but to fulfill it. With Jesus sacrifice on the cross came incredible love, grace and forgiveness which does not cover everybody automatically. One has to receive Him and embrace it to be of any effect. The Law of Sin and Death still works in full in our society today and by that usually do these tragedies come as God is pushed aside to the point where He cannot protect someone from the fruits of evil choices because they have chosen to do so. It is an awful heart breaking tragedy that causes me great sadness but it is also a sober reminder to us that sin does have its awful consequences in both this life and the next.
Don't forget that John the Baptist called the Pharisees out on their hypocrisy and warned them that they were headed for disaster. They not only killed him, but they executed the very prophecy that the Baptist warned them about when they crucified Jesus.
Why haven't you then, asked the same question as to why God has allowed abortion to take the lives of over 50 million innocents?
That is because the plan still stands and he will not interfere with what is already written. These events are the cause and effect of Mankind's own alienation from God.
Woe be to any soul who goes before judgment with their blood on their hands. That includes those who apologize for or scold those who condemn their actions.
The Messiah offered an atonement for those who acknowledge Him. The God of forgiveness asks us to follow the Father's commandments. As He says in Matthew 7 about the final Judgment,
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

While I agree with the general sentiments you express in your posts on this thread, I can’t agree that God no longer exercises his right to punish Evil, both in this life and the next. “’Vengence is mine; I wilL repay’, saith the Lord” is, as we read in Romans 12:19, still in force today.
Where I definitely agree with you is in being disgusted by he ghoulishness of some to the posts on this thread. Ezekiel 33:11 says in part “...As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live...”
What makes any of us think that we should do what God doesn’t do, by taking pleasure in the death of the wicked? Or of the families of the wicked? In my view, doing so is to tread on very dangerous ground.
