My in-laws, who have migrated to being liberals as they aged and want “more free stuff”, made it pretty apparent they’d be voting for Hussein. Then we made it pretty clear that we wouldn’t be supporting anyone, including family, who voted for Hussein. Didn’t hear much political discussion after that. Guess they came to the conclusion that free stuff from us was more tangible than free stuff from Uncle Sugar.

We had a similar situation. After the election, when we got together for family suppers, we didn't contribute to table nearly as much as we had before. People were a bit miffed -- "Why don't you bring steaks anymore?" "Why no GOOD beer?" -- until we pointed out that we were conserving funds to deal with the inevitable tax increases that were coming with Zer0's election, and that if they wanted a free ride, they could apply to 0.

THey're STILL pissed.

Love it! Notice how they shut their traps when their own money or gifts are at risk. Yet they so easily think other people’s money being taken from them is fine.
