Universal truths I knew at 18: (1985)
1) Reagan was the Man
2) Soviet Union was just plain evil
3) Carter and Mondale were a joke
4) Big military buildup = safe USA
5) the 60’s sucked
6) Lech Walesa was one brave SOB
7) Pope John Paul was one tough cookie
8) USA should have leveled Tehran in 1979
9) Many of my friends were Alex P Keatons and had very liberal parents
10) Liberal Baby boomers will be the death of us all
circa 1985 or a few years earlier at early 20-something youth:
11) Liberal girls were easy and fun for a while.
12) Did not fully appreciate how lucky we were to have Reagan.
13) Pope, Reagan & Lech took on the USSR while “Catholic” Notre Dame Uni wants to give a muslim & baby killer a honorary PhD.
14) Asst Sec of Navy Jim Webb was not a traitor yet and before he wrote Vietnam kiddie porn novels.
Yeah, I was 20 then, and that was pretty much right down the line for me too. I saw, throught jr high, what Carter had wrought and had a bellyful. God Bless Ronald Reagan.
Let's add the USA Olypic hockey team in '80. I still remember those college kids running the Red Army players through the glass every time the pinkos even thought about going near the puck and the crowd chanting USA USA USA USA.
