My theory is that Obama is actually a person who thrives on competition, and then when he beats his opponent, quickly bores of the victory and moves on to the next competitive challenge. Everyday mundane details of the Presidency are not of interest to him.

I've put it this way: Obama is someone who enjoys getting a job more than he does actually doing a job. His whole resume speaks to this trait in him.
