Take a shuttle or even a cab. The area at night is too dicey. I used to work at the Oakland airport for 2 yrs and know the general area
I took the AirBART bus. Usually I fly out of SFO, a lot safer. The BART goes right into the SFO terminal now. I live at the other end of the line (Dublin), so a $15 round trip BART ticket is a lot cheaper than driving to the airport
