"Everyone is racing to take the blame......."

This is reminiscent of Agatha Christie's "Murder on the Orient Express" where every one of the suspects confesses to taking a turn in stabbing the victim.

So, who's to blame?

Well, all of them......or none of them for lack of enough hard evidence.

A perfect tactic......Dodd, Gaithner, Obama....and maybe ten other little Indians will all take the blame for the bonus exception clause so that no single one gets the pipe.

Thats where all the money went. Lets distract the fact that we just sent Billions to Europe for the purposes of ‘helping global liquidity’, and borrowed the money to do it, with a couple hundred Million to some hard working people. Most of them have agreed to give all the money back anyways. Its basically 100% tax. They left out 10% so these guys could hire a lawyer and accountant to figure out if they have to pay the tax. Ultimately it should be ruled unconstitutional, and there be no restriction on bonuses, or activities. The government gave a loan. They did not give free money.

Wouldn’t you think the first thing you would ask if someone needs $100 Billion is, “what are you using the money for?”. I am beginning to think that these guys aren’t completely inept as it appears, but rather, they are just really bad at hiding their back room, pay and play schemes. (which makes them inept con men) The sheer volume of negative stories coming out of this administration is staggering. And not the political slander from the right, but really bad decision making.

Geitner staff is missing because they can’t find any smart people who will buy the con. The industry pros won’t back this, just for a little power, they already have that.

The hilarious part of all this is if the Administration had just let the AIG’ers take the bonuses, instead of having a manufactured tantrum about it, they wouldn’t be sinking in all this muck.

They are truly clueless. And dangerous even to themselves.

We tried to warn’em that this guy was the wrong guy to be SecTreas but the media came back with the (d) party line that he was “the best person for the job”.

If he can’t understand his own tax liability, how can he understand anything larger?

Agreed. They’ve made it far, far worse on themselves by feigning outrage over it all and drumming up this witch hunt against AIG. Now that it turns out that the Obama administration knew about it all along and even pressed for it to happen, people are gonna be pissed...and rightfully so.

Responsibility is a heavy responsibility. He deserves a cookie for his money grubbing efforts.

Geithner is not a smart person.

For some reason, every time I see him I'm reminded of Eddie Haskell.

They are truly clueless. And dangerous even to themselves.

Their current SOP is to deny any knowledge of the FU but bravely accept the blame for it. How lame is that?

This Bill was written in the office of the Speaker. Why doesn’t she take responsibility?

What if all the AIG employees just “walk out”? Or, what if they in vengence, were to destroy the company?

Many of them, at the worst of it, were begged to stay, save the sinking ship. Now, their pay, retention bonus, is taken away...

There are going to be some very, very, bitter angry folks out there...

Ever notice when a lousy rat takes 'full responsibility' for something, there are never, ever, any type of consequences.

They get off scott free. Pathetic.....

Kind of like Janet Reno taking “full responsibility” for Waco.

This reads to me that Geithner is already booked out the door.

"And as soon as I heard about the full scale of these things, we moved very actively to explore every possible avenue -- legal avenue to address this problem, to make sure that, again, the assistance we were providing was not going to unduly benefit these people," he said.

In Liberalese this means "When I got caught"
