But she was probably lying about the park and the abduction. The story sounded fishy to even the newsguy who read it this morning. And now she is saying she hit her OWN head and somehow got, in the front seat of her car, from the park in Lancaster to the park-n-ride in Palmdale.

My guess is that she and/or the other person involved were in the valley somewhere when the baby was either killed accidentally or murdered; they left the body there in the bushes by the freeway on their way back up to the Antelope Valley. They roughed the mom up for the excuse — or maybe she just got roughed up by someone for real - and left her at the Park-n-Ride.

I too have had many years fighting infertility and would have taken her in and given that baby a beautiful life. It breaks my heart.

Lancaster and Palmdale are only ~5 miles apart on the 14. Forget the newsguy. You have a good guess. But it is still 30 miles south from the Mojave desert. And 30 miles north of one of the worst FWY intersections in the world. With big accidents as a normal occurance. And a little girl's body ends up there?

i.e. A Brinks truck overturned there and 10-12 lanes were stopped because people parked their cars to pick up free quarters. A chichen truck went over and people put live chickens in their trunks. A pig truck went over and so there were free frozen pigs. The beef truck got raided by pick-ups. The beer truck was emptied fast and made lighter, along with the soda truck. Just wait for the next one on the underpass.

Your idea fails because everybody driving the 14, 5, and 405 sees everything going on there. You can't stop there. The body was there for a reason. The question is what is the message?
