That’s why I didn’t say you were a despot, dude ! I said carries the seeds of it. You do understand the difference, I hope. I stand by my conclusion, too. It does carry the seeds of it because at it’s core is the idea that at some point, people are a bad idea.

Listen to yourself.

You're making a big stink about "carries the seed". Hey, dude!, if big decisions were ever made because "the seeds" were "ominous", then the whole world would've been crippled by bad decisions from the very beginning of human existence.

Guns are ominous, nuclear power is ominous, airplanes are ominous, knives are ominous. Each one of those things can be used for the wrong purpose. But, each one can also be used for doing good. Stating that too many people on earth can lead to big or bigger problems is not the same as inviting someone to actually issue an edict for population control. That's the territory of despots and liberals. I'm not anyone of those and hopefully, neither are you.

If half the world, as an example, lives in poverty, then, with 20 or 30 billion people to worry about, it would mean that there would be at least 15 billion people living in poverty, and that, of course, would be very disastrous, not only because of the huge number of people living in poverty, but also because of the many more conflicts which would ensue over religion, culture, land, politics, and more.

This is not that big a matter right now, but, it's worth thinking about. That's not the same as agreeing with the scaremonger that wrote the article for this thread.

People produce wealth: ~80% more than they consume, except for the permanent drones.

Our world of 5 billion is so rich that the poorest countries in (say) 1970 are now comparatively decent places to live.

In a world of 30 billion, the very poorest people on the planet would have 30 inch HDTVs.
