(CNN) -- Former President George W. Bush is writing a book focusing on defining decisions he's made in his personal and political life, a publishing house announced Thursday.

The book, tentatively titled "Decision Points," is to be published in fall 2010, according to the Crown Publishing Group. Financial terms weren't disclosed.

The book will focus on about 12 important decisions made by the former president. Topics will include his decision to run for president, his choice of his closest advisers, the September 11 terrorist attacks, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, his response to Hurricane Katrina, the forming of his stem cell research policy, his decision to quit drinking, how he found faith and his relationships with his father, mother, siblings and wife.

"I am spending time on the book every day," Bush was quoted saying in a news release. "My goal is to bring the reader inside the Oval Office for the most consequential moments of my personal and political life.

"I look forward to painting a vivid picture of the information I had, the principles I followed, and the decisions I made," Bush said.

Be serious. You expect me to find a Bush speech between January and September 2001?

No. That's not what I said. Find a speech after 9-11 that he made that proposes making the federal govt. more conservative WITHOUT using the WOT.

Nixon wrote his own books. All the others have them written by ghosts, and we’ll never know if they even read them!

I guess cutting the entire federal income taxes in 2003 wasn't conservative enough for you Ms. Couric! LOL!

Funny, just this morning Fox showed how in the past four years, raids and arrests on businesses employing illegals had increased FIVE times that of any other time in history.

New administration, new HLS director and old Nancy Pelosi are hell bend on stopping that practice.

So, keep up your broken record crap about immigration & George W...

Both Bush Sr. and Bush Jr. had the great shining example of Ronald Reagan right in front of their eyes, showing them (usually) how things should be done, and both preferred (too often) to show how un-like RR they could be.

You know something.....it beats the hell out of daily carbombings in our major cities...

I had some issues with Bush as well....but my number ONE issue....he took care of quite well ...

Thank you Mr Bush for being willing to get your hands dirty fighting terrorist vermin while the democrats tried to hold your arms behind your back.

For the record...Bush is a moderate.

But he was a hell of a lot better than the alternative...both times.

Thanks. But I already know each year's deficit by heart. I was just questioning whether that other posted knew.

The largest budget deficit under Bush and the Republicans was in 2004 at $412 billion. That's nothing compared to Obama and the Democrats for fiscal 2009 at about $2 trillion.

Tdogz, This was such an outstanding post that I had to borrow it...lol. Decisions were not his strong suit...however he should write a strategy plan on going to war and the results that were found...(A Country that is better off because of George W. Bush which is what he was good at). Regardless of what the media said.

Twelve Decisions?

1 No Child Left Behind

2 Trillion Dollar Medicare Drug Bill

3 Campaign Finance Reform

4 Harriet Miers

5 Immigration Reform

6 Trillion Dollar Bail Out of Banks and Wall Street

7 Nationalization of AIG

I mean I’m really sure Gore and Kerry would have been a whole lot better, right?

I don’t understand your tactic by using this scenario. That is like saying to a women well you should be lucky you got raped you could have been murdered. My expections for Gore and Kerry would not have been as high as Bush. President Bush was a conservative in Texas and that is what he ran on...once he got into office, he lost the conservative and became a moderate (at best).

I don’t understand your tactic by using this scenario.

First, Bush did not run as a conservative, his motto if you recall was a "compassionate conservative" and that is what he turned out to be. Tough on defense and liberal on domestic issues.

One thing about Bush is he was up front with who he was, what you see is what you get kind of guy.

I think some people forget that sometimes, it's not a tactic to point it out or say he wasn't our perfect pick but it was a whole lot better than the alternatives.

Kind of like this last go around, either zer0 or hold your nose then puke McCain.

I'll say one thing about Bush that you can't say for 99% of our politicians and that is he was real. I disagreed with a lot of thing he did but that is just who he was. Compared to what we have now, he is an angel.

Remember, this is a list of Bush's Decisions and while he may have failed in his Decisions to Grant Amnesty to Illegal Aliens and to appoint Harriet Miers to the SCOTUS, they were his Decisions.

However, Bush was successful in his decisions to impose Campaign Finance Reform and to Nationalize AIG as well as to impose Socialized Medicine with the Medicare Drug Bill.

I know, we are in a major crisis now and they are still blaming Bush for everything, although, Congress certainly had their hand in much of the problem.

Actually, history will be much kinder to W than people such as yourself.

Moreover, unless you are an Historian, please don’t predict what Historians will write.

Thanks so much!

LOLOLOLOLOL! Everyone is an historian. We remember and it shapes our thoughts and what we do in the future. Unless you go about forgetting each day and starting over. LOL

Not to mention the arrogance of your statement.
