“Nice spin but those AIG FP employees were generously compensated while they steered SS AIG straight into the iceberg. That they needed a payoff to stick around and try to mitigate the horrific damage their company caused is nothing short of blackmail. Some of them belong in government issued pinstripes for issuing trillions of dollars of junk paper and collapsing our financial system.”

How do you know that? You don’t, you are simply reacting to what the left wants you to. I know, freedom is bad, it makes greed take over common sense right comrade?

Our financial system has not collapsed, where are you getting your information from? Maybe you should consider the problem was mismanagement by your government, particularly democrats of the regulations. Not so much de-regulation, but stupid regulation encouraging stupid investments. Google Community Revitalization Act for instance, there you see where a lot of the junk paper came from.

Instead of buying into propaganda why don’t you do a little homework and find out the truth? Do you realize those people you would persecute have lessened AIG’s liability by over a TRILLION DOLLARS??? I say double there frigging bonuses for a job well done.

Our financial system has collapsed when the Fed is printing a trillion dollars to buy treasury bonds and mortgage backed securites.

I don’t dispute Dem deregulation opened this whole can of worms but that deregulation was heavily supported ($$$) by Wall Street. AIG was one of the main enablers in this whole fiasco along with the mostly dim politicians they bribed.

Without AIG and their ilk writing that CDS paper these banks would not have been able to sell their nicely repackaged crud liar loans in such large amounts. It’s great that these altruistic employees wiped that trillion dollars in liabilities off the AIG books. Too bad a similar amount and more has been transferred over to our books due to the negligence of their company.
