One question:

Husband and Son are active and don’t carry private insurance. Does this tool expect mandatory private insurance policies for ALL active duty???

No, but if they get a serious service connected disability, it is a certainty that they’ll have trouble paying for a private insurance policy if they ever need one.

I have no idea. My dad is a retired disabled person who gets his medicine through the VA and he doesn’t have private insurance either.
