I don’t have an issue with this if it makes people who get free money for college, welfare payments, EIC bennies, WIC payments, unemployment, and anything possible penny from the government. You need to pay for it through volunteering, forced volunteering or otherwise. Otherwise I don’t support this at all.

Even if the people who get free money for all that crap have to “volunteer” for gov programs, said programs will all be leftist crap, and will cost MORE taxpayer money, and the programs will continue to undermine all that is (was) good about our country.
Rip the entire thing out by the root, or it will continue to produce the bitter fruit we are seeing right now. More leftist crap, more blind, deaf and dumb leftist sheep who are utterly dependent on Big Brother for every crumb.
If you want to create an army of government indoctrinated robots fine. Otherwise it will lead to disaster. A army of kids to do their "social duty" by letting authorities know you put the wrong trash in the wrong recycle bin. Watered your garden at an unapproved time. Your porch light was on during the day. You had known disruptive people visit your home. There is no end to the government controlling an army of people where only government gets to set their priorities and define what is good for the whole or not. And what is "good" for the whole may not be good for the individual. America is about individual rights not what's best for the whole through the eyes of an elite social engineer accountable to no one.
If people want to go to college on the taxpayers dime join the military. Oh, we already do that...

It’s hard enough to spend time with my family, let alone some feel-good indoctrination “service” forced by a political party. Also, since it is clear that you didn’t already know it, people who collect unemployment have already paid into the system.

You don’t have a problem with forcing people to volunteer? It’s not longer volunteering- it’s servitude to the state- aka socialism.
This is the problem with socialism to begin with...it all sounds so harmless, sometimes even noble. The problem is the way in which it erodes liberty and freedom. All the rights and responsibilities of the INDIVIDUAL are now in the hands of the collective/state.
