You are correct. Maher is, quite simply, mentally deranged. Locking him away would be for his own safety since it’s only a matter of time before someone nearly as deranged takes him out. I can’t believe he hasn’t been beaten to a pulp already (not that any of us here would, ahem, condone such a thing).
He's not the only one...most of Hollywood can pick a number and go sit, too.
