State lawmakers are also talking about raising gasoline taxes to pay for road and bridge construction.

That sales pitch is the most popular and reliable political scam there is. Politicians have no intention to fix the roads because it's their guaranteed way to repeatedly pass new taxes and bonds that eventually get redirected into the general fund. The sheeple never figure out this scam for some reason, proof you can fool some of the people all of the time.

A number of years back, when they opened up the first 355 extension from Army Trail Rd. - South, it was only 2 lanes wide, each way. I was absolutely dumbfounded at the stupidity. 3 or 4 years later, 355 was all torn up widening to 3 lanes.
