I've always lived in TN.
"In any event, I do find Toomey's apparent decision unfortunate. Conervatives in PA would be better served by not having two of their standard bearers butting heads in a primary."
I find his entry a decided relief. Luksik is practically a perennial also-ran. That's not the best we can put up. If Toomey decided not to get in, it might be a different story, but you and I both know Luksik isn't going to win a Senate race in a general election match-up unless the Democrat was a convicted felon or child molestor.
"Toomey knows Luksik has already all but officially announced her campaign. His decision, if true, is counterproductive and appears opportunistic. Pat Toomey is better than that, IMO."
We've been stomping from the rafters since 2004 for Toomey to seek a rematch. It was his honor to do so. Why would he defer to a second-tier candidate who cannot win a general election all because they declared "first" ? First doesn't mean best or viable. You know that. If she were viable, it would be a different story.
"Your contention That "For us expecting a solid field assembled this early is a bit ridiculous" makes me wonder who you think "us" is."
Us can be whomever I'm addressing. In this case, Republicans.
"Now is the time to organize the effort and work toward putting a united ticket in place. Now is not the time to be pitting our favorites against each other."
I agree we need to be putting forward our best and most viable candidates, but sometimes that isn't always our personal favorite.

Don't speak for me. I'm not convinced she couldn't win anymore than I'm convinced Toomey could. It's too early to be convinced of anything concerning 2010.
