Arlen Specter is in hot water and is looking to survive.

A party switch is possible.

Toomey deserved to win in 2004 but some big names helped Specter like then Senator Rick Santorum and then President Bush.

Bush’s automated calls for Specter the day before the primary probably clinched it. Toomey only lost by 12-thousand votes to Specter.

Voted for Toomey back in 04. What Santorum and Bush did was disgraceful and contributed heavily towards his defeat. Specter is if nothing else a very shrewd politician, flush with cash, who will look at this in terms of expediency. He realizes that by far his biggest threat will be in the primary. He knows that if he can make it to the general he has a very good chance at winning against Toomey in a way too blue Pennsylvania. That's how I see this shaping up. All I can say about Specter is good bye and good riddance.
